If you choose to ship us your core – we will ship your kit after we have received your core at our shop.
If you choose to pay the core charge – we will ship your kit right away, you do not have to ship us your core at this time. That charge is refunded to you when you return an acceptable working core.
Finally, after being requested enough times by our customers, we have put together the BMW e36 electric power steering kit. This unit is made for the the non-tilt steer model. This power steering module is installed underneath your dash. The complete EPS system and steering column only weighs 22 pounds. In order to provide customers with a truly bolt-in solution, your old steering column core must be returned to us. This allows us to provide you with a column that’s already been modified to accept our EPS unit without any fabrication required. Additionally, the steering feel of this EPS system is tunable to each user’s preference. Just mount the supplied adjustment knob on your dash and turn one way for lighter steering and the other way for a heavier feel.
This is the non-tilt Core. This is mostly found in the US. Not too many tilt columns in the world. Also we have found that the outer diameter (OD) of the tube at the steering wheel end is either 1.87″ or 1.75″. Please verify and note this on your order.
