Electric power steering uses an electric motor to assist the steering. The power steering computer (PSECU) receives information from several sensors and decides which level of assistance the electric motor should deliver to the steering. When you install an electric steering column from a Nissan Versa to your vehicle it will only work in a ‘fail safe’ mode because the PSECU is not receiving the missing CanBus communication.
With ‘Fail Safe’ mode, Nissan enables enough power steering assistance to safely get to a repair facility.
What ServTronis has done is to communicate to the PSECU and set a higher range of assistance. Fail Safe only allows 240Watts, while this controller allows up to 400Watts. But even better is the fact that you can adjust the assistance even lower.
That´s why you need this controller unit. It sends information to the PSECU according to the position of the knob. So, the position of this knob will determine the steering assistance level.
Typical applications: Buggys, Hot Rods, Tractors, Sprint and Dwarf track cars, Sand Rails and many others.
We are the US reseller for ServTronic “Bruno”. Don’t be fooled by other Distributors, Sellers or copies. This is the real deal. Not just some knock off. Together ServTronic and ePowerSteering have been selling electric power steering controllers since 2013.
